Bio: Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars is one of the definitive names of the current music generation. If you’re curious for a tad of background on the singer, he is a Hawaii-native, singer/songwriter/record producer, who began his career back in 2004 as a behind-the-scenes composer for several other chart-topping artists at the time. From this work, he used the momentum he generated for his name from this work to launch his solo career in 2009 with the inception of his record label The Smeezingtons. The same year, he released his first album Doo-Wops and Hooligans, which was met with universal praise, and broke records for the number of copies sold. His second album Unorthodox Jukebox followed in the same suit of succes in sales and critical reception, and also exemplified his transition to his energetic, retro, soul-homage style of music for which he is now notorious for.

In just two weeks, his much-anticipated, new album 24K Magic will hit the charts, but for now we already have the lead single of the same name to enjoy in the meantime. In the same vein of his last few singles, 2K Magic is Mars's throwback tribute to the RnB music trends of the 70's, 80's, and 90's, whilst still maintaining an appeal to our modern age of listeners. Come experience the '24K Magic' in person, with Bruno Mar's live performance at Libertine, with the added bonus of guest DJ Jillionaire accompanying the evening.
